Fancy dressing up on marathon day to win one hundred pound with Belfast Live
30 October 2018
On 5th May 2019, the 38th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is set to make history as it takes place on a Sunday for the first time ever. The largest single participatory sporting event in Northern Ireland is gearing up for a massive year of change with a brand new, flatter and faster route for marathon participants and a new start location on the grounds of the iconic Stormont Estate.
There will be full line up of events to suit all levels of fitness including the Marathon and Wheelchair Race, the Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run, all with brand new improved routes. All events will start at Stormont except for the Fun Run which will start and finish at Ormeau Park.
Some will be there to compete for a personal best, for others it will be their first time running a marathon but for thousands of participants it’s all about fundraising (the Team Relay event alone raises over £1.1 million each year for local charities). Furthermore, there are those who will add to the fun of race day by dressing up for a chance to win £100 with Belfast Live!
In the past we have seen the Smurfs, the Incredible Hulk, Spiderman and friends, and the Oompa Loompas. One man even donned a suit for the entire 26.2 miles. Can you beat this in 2019?
So whether you are running the marathon, entering a corporate team, walking 8 miles or “fun running” with friends and family to fundraise, you have the chance to win the “Fancy Dress Award” of £100, courtesy of Belfast Live.
So keep your Halloween costumes handy and make sure you sign up before midnight on 31st October 2018 to avail of a spooktastic EARLY RATE!
