The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon brings so many positive benefits our community. It encourages participants to be more active and promotes the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and with the race itself the relay, fun run and 8 mile walk, there really is something for everyone.
The same can be said for SPAR. We’re passionate about encouraging our shoppers, retailers and employees to eat healthy and enjoy regular exercise. We have a dedicated team who create healthy, tasty recipes using the freshest, local ingredients. Whether you’re a fitness fanatic or just beginning to train for the big event, our ‘meal inspiration’ and ‘enjoy local’ ranges offer quick, healthy meal solutions to complement your training regime.
This year poses a real opportunity for celebration as we mark our 60th anniversary. Since we opened our doors in 1961, SPAR has grown to an impressive 292 locally owned stores, proudly serving NI. We're committed to bringing communities together and creating enjoyable, family experiences. There is a huge feelgood factor surrounding the Belfast City Marathon, providing a great opportunity for us all to get those much needed positive endorphins flowing.
It’s impossible to ignore the enormous contribution the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon makes to local charities with runners raising much needed funds for worthy causes every year. This is another example of the synergy between our brand and the marathon. SPAR recognises the importance of giving back to our local communities and has raised more than £300,000 for our charity partner this year alone. We hope that many of our staff and retailers will use the marathon as a vital fundraising opportunity for the local community who need our support now more than ever.
SPAR is calling on as many people as possible to set themselves a target and sign up for the marathon. Whether you’re running your first mile or your 26th, a fun personal challenge is guaranteed. Good luck with the training!
