Tommy Hughes breaking records ahead of September Half Marathon

Tommy Hughes of Termoneeny Running Club updates us on how training is going as he takes on a Guinness World Record Challenge with his son Eoin at this year’s Half Marathon!

“Training and racing are going well.  I won the over 55s Irish 10 mile Road Race Championships in a world record time for a 59 year old of 54 mins 54 secs.  I also won the over 55 Irish Half Marathon Championship in a time of 73 mins 59 secs.


Last week I ran a parkrun pb of 16 mins 22 secs at MUSA parkrun in Cookstown and was 2nd behind my son Eoin who ran 15 mins 26 secs. 


This weekend I am running the Irish Masters Track and Field Championship in Tullamore Co. Offaly in the 5000 meters and the 1500 meters.”
