Secure your marathon entry before the price increases 1 March
28 February 2019
Follow the Experiment Group’s Marathon journey and make sure you have you secured your marathon place before the entry fee increases on 1st March
As we near the end of Health Month February, this also marks the deadline of the current entry rate for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon. Set to make history this year, the event takes place on a Sunday for the first time ever on 5th May 2019. Marathon and Team Relay participants can expect a brand new flatter and faster route this year; starting at the iconic Stormont Estate and finishing in Ormeau Park. The new route is ideal for your first marathon or to set the much sought after PB.
With 10 weeks to go, the event’s Experiment 26.2 Group who are all training for their first ever marathon, are clocking up the miles in preparation of their biggest fitness and mental challenge to date. All with the support of their Official Marathon Coach, Stuart Kennedy, running kit from Adidas and event partners – Framar Health, Better, Athletics NI, Belfast Live, Daily Mirror and more. The group have all chosen to run and fundraise for one of the Official 2019 Marathon Charities – Belfast Arthroplasty Research Trust (BART), Cancer Focus NI, Air Ambulance NI, Stroke Association and Action Mental Health.
The group recently met up with the Official Pacers of the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon for a speed interval training session at the Mary Peters Track. The Belfast Live team caught up with some of the group to find out why they embarked on this marathon journey and how their training has been going so far. You can watch the video HERE.
You can follow and support the Experiment 26.2 Group in the coming weeks through their monthly training blogs online at www.belfastcitymarathon.com/get-training/blogs and on the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. Their latest blogs have just been released.
