Four weeks left to enter the 2019 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon
15 March 2019
Belfast City Marathon moves into its 38th year in 2019 with its continued support from title sponsor Deep RiverRock. Launched in 1982, the event is set to make history on 5th May 2019 by moving to a Sunday and will see record numbers with over 5,000 expected to take part in the marathon alone.
The largest single participatory sporting event in Northern Ireland is set for a massive year of change with a brand new, flatter and faster route for marathon participants and a new start location on the grounds of the iconic Stormont Estate. Starting at Stormont at 9am on Sunday 5th May 2019, the marathon route will encompass all 4 corners of the City; North, East, West and South finishing at Ormeau Park. This is an AIMS certified race and will be ideal for a first-time marathon runner, anyone seeking a PB or good for age qualification for the World Marathon Majors series.
The event returns with a full line up of events to suit all levels of fitness including the Marathon and Wheelchair Race, Team Relay (between 2-5 people), 8 Mile Walk and a 2.5 mile Fun Run.
The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is delighted to be able to work with five charity partners in 2019 including Cancer Focus NI, Belfast Arthroplasty Research Trust (BART), Action Mental Health, Stroke Association NI and Air Ambulance NI.
Entries are still open via the MyTicket app at www.belfastcitymarathon.com. The final entry deadline will be midnight on Friday 12th April 2019.
