Eoin and Tommy Hughes Guinness World Record Training Update September

Eoin Hughes of Acorns AC updates us on how training is going as he takes on a Guinness World Record Challenge with his father Tommy (Termoneeny RC) at this year’s Half Marathon!

“Training has been going to plan, most importantly we have no niggles or injuries to speak off.  The mileage has ramped right up, which is new to me (Eoin).  It does mean I'm racing on tired legs but hopefully come race day we will be feeling fresh and give the Guinness World Record a good go.

The record stands at 2 hours 20 minutes 33 seconds combined, this is going to be a big ask on the day and we expect there to be only seconds deciding it in the end either way.

We hope that anybody that is in and around Belfast will come out onto the course and give us as much support as possible.  We would appreciate it greatly and it might just give us that extra edge we need to beat the record.”

🏆Tommy (59 years) and Eoin (34 years) will be attempting a Guinness World Record for combined father and son half marathon finish time at the 7th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon!  Read the full article HERE.

🤩 Come out and support Eoin and Tommy this September for a day to remember!
