Chocolate and Cherry Muscle Recovery Smoothie

It is important to consume some protein within the 45 minutes post exercise to support muscle recovery, especially following a long-distance run. Better muscle recovery will prevent muscle soreness that might reduce the ability and enthusiasm to train again the following day. A post run protein shake is a quick and easy way to meet these protein requirements. This recipe has a secret ingredient, Cherry Active concentrated cherry juice, which is proven in clinical trials to prevent muscle soreness following strenuous exercise. So not only does this smoothie taste a bit like a black forest gateau it also ensures speedy muscle recovery ensuring you will be ready to train again the next day.
30g Chocolate Protein Powder (such as Solgar Whey to Go)
30ml CherryActive® concentrate
150-200ml Milk (you can use cow’s milk or a dairy free milk alternative such as almond milk)
Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
