Queen’s 5k runners on track to become lifesavers

26 March 2010 - 26 March 2010

Participants in this year’s Powerade Queen’s 5K Race Round the River next Wednesday (31 March 2010), could find themselves on track to becoming lifesavers.

All participants are invited to take part in a blood pressure and health clinic being run on the night by medical student charity SWOT (Students Working Overseas Trust). For a small donation, they will be helping SWOT assist healthcare in third world countries to purchase essential medical supplies, sending financial aid and advancing education in areas of need.

And in a further boost, participants are also offered a special deal with prizes sponsor, Gotto Sports, Stranmillis.

With less than a week to go, Queen’s Athletic Club and Gotto Sports (in association with Asics), are offering race participants 20 per cent off footwear and technical clothing up to race day.

Further information on next Wednesday’s event, which is also the official warm up event
for this year’s Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, is available online at http://www.queens5k.co.uk/index.htm

The race begins at 7pm with entries opening at 5pm.
