Put your best foot forward with free running analysis for bus and train passengers

14 January 2010 - 14 January 2010

Translink, official transport partner of the 2010 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, has teamed up with leading running retailer Up and Running and technical running specialist New Balance to offer bus and train passengers a unique opportunity for free running analysis sessions.

These session will take place in Europa Buscentre on Thursday 21st January, 2 – 6pm.

Each session will focus on gait analysis using a treadmill to accurately gauge individual walking and running patterns that will ultimately help people choose the most suitable footwear for their physique and movement style.

Footwear that is improperly sized or unsuitable to individual training needs will increase the risk of injury including back, hip and knee pain and possible training interruptions such as blisters. At each fitness session, New Balance and Up & Running staff will also examine foot length and width as well as provide expert running and training advice.

With the 2010 DeepRiverRock Belfast City Marathon fast approaching on Bank Holiday May 3, this will be an excellent opportunity for both race and relay participants as well as anyone wishing to getter fitter in the new year to get a good headstart.

Passengers can also pick up more information about entering the Marathon and Team Relay race and there will be a free prize draw to win a pair of high performance New Balance trainers.
