Rugby World Cup Stocking Fillers!
Belfast City Council has partnered with the Irish Rugby Football Union and Ulster Rugby to deliver the Women’s Rugby World Cup in August 2017. This is the first time the prestigious tournament will have been held in Ireland and we are thrilled that the finals and semifinals will be hosted at the Kingspan stadium, home of Ulster rugby.
With teams from 12 countries competing and guaranteed television coverage of the event it is an opportunity to showcase Belfast as a great destination for both sport and leisure.
There are more than 1.7 million women and girls playing the sport, it is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world, and with the recent success of the women’s sevens at the Rio Olympic Games it is expected to continue to attract new players, coaches and spectators inspiring a new generation of girls to pick up a rugby ball and run with it.
Tickets for the event to be held at the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast are now available via www.ticketmaster.co.uk
Finals day will be held on Saturday 26th August 2017 and semi-finals day on 22nd August with the hosts, Ireland, guaranteed to play in front of home supporters on both days.
